1. Overview
This Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy ("Policy") describes the intellectual property rights of HungryWatch, operated by CloudBuckle Technologies LLC, and the rights of users who post content on the Platform. It also describes our process for handling copyright infringement claims.
2. HungryWatch Intellectual Property
2.1 Trademarks
The following are trademarks and service marks of CloudBuckle Technologies LLC:
- HungryWatch, the name and wordmark
- The HungryWatch logo, the bowl and map pin device mark
- "No one goes to sleep hungry, not on your watch.", the tagline
- The amber (#EF9F27) and near-black (#1C1917) color combination as applied to the Platform
These marks may not be used without express written permission from CloudBuckle Technologies LLC. Unauthorized use of our trademarks in a manner likely to cause confusion, or in a manner that disparages or discredits HungryWatch, is prohibited.
2.2 Platform Software and Design
The HungryWatch Platform, including its source code, design, user interface, architecture, and documentation, is the proprietary property of CloudBuckle Technologies LLC and is protected by copyright law. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute the Platform software
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform
- Create derivative works based on the Platform
- Use the Platform design or interface elements in another product without written permission
2.3 Platform Content Created by HungryWatch
Content created by HungryWatch, including but not limited to website copy, marketing materials, safety guidelines, community guidelines, and documentation, is protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Exception: journalists and researchers may quote limited portions of our public-facing content for news reporting and educational purposes consistent with fair use doctrine.
3. User-Generated Content
3.1 What Users Own
You own the content you create and post on the Platform. HungryWatch does not claim ownership of your pin notes, food descriptions, or other content you post.
3.2 License You Grant to HungryWatch
By posting content on the Platform, you grant CloudBuckle Technologies LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to:
- Store and display your content on the Platform
- Transmit your content to other users as part of normal Platform operation
- Include anonymized versions of your content in aggregate datasets used for impact reporting
- Cache and reproduce your content as technically necessary to operate the Platform
This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for copies made in automated backups, which expire per our data retention schedule.
3.3 Content Representations
By posting content on the Platform, you represent that:
- You own the content or have the right to post it
- Your content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Your content does not violate any applicable law
4. Third-Party Content
4.1 Map Data
The HungryWatch map is rendered using MapLibre GL, an open-source rendering library, with basemap tiles provided by CARTO. Map data includes contributions from OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database License (ODbL). CARTO's basemap styles and services are subject to CARTO's terms at carto.com.
4.2 Meeting Spot Data
Suggested public meeting spot data is sourced from OpenStreetMap via the Overpass API. This data is available under the Open Database License. HungryWatch's curation, filtering, and presentation of this data is our original work.
4.3 Font Licenses
HungryWatch uses Plus Jakarta Sans, used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. It is available at Google Fonts and may be used under OFL terms.
5. Copyright Infringement Claims (DMCA)
5.1 Reporting Infringement
If you believe that content on the HungryWatch Platform infringes your copyright, please send a notice to our designated contact containing:
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- A description of where the allegedly infringing content is located on the Platform (URL or pin ID)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
5.2 Where to Send Notices
Send copyright notices to hungrywatchapp@gmail.com with the subject line "DMCA Notice".
5.3 Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification containing the elements required by 17 U.S.C. Section 512(g)(3), sent to the same contact above.
5.4 Repeat Infringers
HungryWatch will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.
6. Open Source Components
The HungryWatch Platform incorporates open source software components. A list of open source components and their applicable licenses is available on request at hungrywatchapp@gmail.com.
7. Brand Usage Guidelines for Partners
Community partners, institutional donors, and press may use the HungryWatch name and logo under these conditions:
- Usage must be in connection with a genuine community partnership or news coverage of HungryWatch
- The HungryWatch name must not be altered, combined with other words, or used in a way that implies endorsement of unrelated products or services
- The logo must be reproduced in its approved form, amber on dark or dark on light, without modification
- Usage must not imply that HungryWatch endorses the partner's other products, services, or positions
- Commercial usage requires written permission from CloudBuckle Technologies LLC

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our website and, where appropriate, by notification. The updated Policy will be posted at hungrywatch.com/copyright with the new effective date.
